Facing terminal cancer, Polish man ordained priest in hospital bed

Terminally ill seminarian Michał Łos’s dream came true on Friday, May 24, when Auxiliary Bishop Marek Solarczyk of the Warsaw-Praga diocese visited him in the hospital.
The 31-year-old graduate of the Major Seminary of Saint Luigi Orione desperately wanted to receive the sacrament of Holy Orders and celebrate at least one Mass before he loses his battle to cancer.
Thanks to Pope Francis’ prior approval, the Auxiliary bishop ordained the now-Fr. Michał in his hospital bed, first to the diaconate and to then to the priesthood.
Fr. Michał later thanked the publicfor their prayers and gave a blessing.
