Former Dream Team captain, Azubuike Okechukwu has expressed joy after finally netting his first league goal in the Turkish top flight on Saturday for Caykur Rizespor as they beat Bursaspor 2-0 away.
The 21-year-old previously played for Yeni Melatyaspor in the 2017/2018 season but failed to find the net in any of his 28 games before moving to the Egyptian league last summer.
He however said from his base in Turkey that it was a dream come true.
“It was a great feeling for me. It’s like a dream come through. I have always wanted to score in the league and now I have achieved it.
“I feel more excited that my team was able to pick all three points and that will boost our confidence as we continue to fight to escape the drop,” Azubuike said.
Azubuike has already established himself as a starter in Caykur Rizespor since his arrival on loan last month, starting in their two last league matches as they have also remained unbeaten through out the period.
